Since 1995, Holly Schumpert has provided bankruptcy assistance and representation for both individuals and businesses.

Chapter 7 Costs

At Schumpert Law, getting rid of the stress and constant worry that overwhelming debt can bring has a starting cost of $600 in Attorney Fees for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy.  There will never be any hidden or surprise costs, and we will honor all quotes provided to clients.
Along with attorney fees, clients will be responsible for covering court costs of $335, and 2 counseling sessions with Schumpert Law, one to be completed before filing, and the other for a total of $22.98.
As a result, the debtor can see thousands of dollars in debt settled for less than $1000!

Chapter 7 “Liquidation”

Chapter 7 bankruptcy is also referred to as a “liquidation”. This does not mean that if you file a Chapter 7 bankruptcy, you will lose your property that you are wanting to keep. A Chapter 7 bankruptcy is designed to completely eliminate debt that is hindering your ability to maintain your ongoing daily expenses or your accounts with your secured creditors, such as your automobiles, furniture or home. In most Chapter 7 bankruptcy cases there are no unexempt assets. Therefore, in most cases, you can protect your property or assets and discharge the other accounts that are overwhelming you. Chapter 7 allows you to legally discharge unsecured debts, including but not limited to credit card debt, medical debt, utility debt, past landlords, past automobiles, personal loans and sometimes debts owed to the IRS. If you are being garnished and file a Chapter 7 bankruptcy, not only may you stop the garnishment, you may be able to have all or some of the garnished funds returned to you. The bankruptcy process for a Chapter 7 is very short and the discharge is usually within four months of filing the case. Once you have been granted a discharge, you will want to begin re-establishing your credit. Call today to schedule an appointment for a free consultation with Attorney Holly Schumpert to discuss your specific circumstances and options to determine if a Chapter 7 is the best solution to begin your fresh start.
